I haven't posted for a while because I am working on my first two how-to tie-dye books.
The "Tie-dye Basics" will be a book that is for beginning tie-dyers to start from, and for more experienced dyers to check their methodes against. It will include complete color mixing instructions, ways to apply the dyes, tie-dyeing various accordion fold stripes, setting the dyes for maximum color, and more. I will be selling it at a very reasonable price, and it will also introduce the other books in the series.
The second book is going to be how-to tie-dye stars, and this is the one I'm most involved in right now. This will answer my most frequently asked question--how to tie a star. I've taken about 8 complete picture series on how to tie a star on a T-shirt, but I think I've got it figured out. I have to be in the picture so I have to have someone else click the shutter. Now I'm having all the settings on manual so that I have the same focus and exposure for every shot in the series. I've also had to learn how to hold the shirt so the camera sees what I'm doing from the right angle and without any fingers in the way.
I've also been working out formating the book into pdf files, but I'm getting there. More soon...
